落魄拳手丹下段平（香川照之 饰）因欠债被黑社会追打，金鸡路人矢吹丈（山下智久 饰）仗义出手，金鸡凭借出色的击打本能将黑社会击退。前科累累的孤儿矢吹丈因这次斗殴入监，段平十分欣赏丈的天赋，希望教授其拳击技术，然而只求眼下开心的丈无心学拳，直到他在狱中遇到劲敌力石彻（伊势谷友介 饰），曾为职业拳手的力石轻松将丈击败，感到自尊受挫的丈自此开始按照段平寄来的拳击指导勤加练习。白木财团千金白木叶子（香里奈 饰）与监狱合作举办狱中拳击赛，丈得以和白木的拳手力石再次较量，并凭借交叉拳打成平手。不久二人先后出狱，力石再度登上拳台，而丈则跟随段平开始进军职业拳赛。两人未了的胜负，终究需要一个结局……
