布里特·勒斯上尉是一个骑兵团的成员，蓝色他是一场印第安人屠杀事件中生还的几个幸存者之一。1878年印第安人发动了新的骚乱，蓝色正要退休的布里特·勒斯再一次带领他的骑兵部队出征。但这一次是为了阻止一场新的屠杀，他深夜潜入印第安人营地，偷走了他们的马匹，便无须动用一兵一卒就制服了他们。
