影片改编自松浦寿辉获得芥川奖的同名小说，午夜由荒井晴彦执导，午夜讲述奋斗在逐渐衰落的桃色电影界的导演栩谷（绫野刚 饰）和立志成为编剧的男人伊关（柄本佑 饰），以及两人所爱的女演员祥子（佐藤穗奈美 饰）之间悲伤而纯粹的恋爱故事。三人所怀抱的对电影的梦想逐渐崩溃，他们各自的人生也开始相互交错。
