清朝末年，中文字幕线留洋归国的富家子弟林继民（于洋 饰）被家乡广州城内民不聊生的社会景象激发出救国情怀，中文字幕线联手青年革命志士陈镜波（林锦堂 饰）合办报纸欲启发民智，却因揭发清政府的腐败屡遭官方打压致报馆被查封，继民备受打击从而立志加入同盟会，抛下了新婚妻子蔡雪雁（李司棋 饰），赴港追随黄兴（秦煌 饰）投身革命。雪雁本是镜波的未婚妻，为了保障雪雁的安稳，镜波忍痛将雪雁托付于家境优渥的继民，不料雪雁一过门便独守空闺，又因小姑林芷珊（韩马利 饰）情系镜波而遭妒忌，在继民出走后遭到夫家的欺侮，无奈走上了革命的道路……
