本片故事分为两条线来叙述，昆塔一条线是围绕着玉蕾集团的权力争斗和神秘配方的争夺来展开，昆塔表现出了现实生活中人们对于权力和利益的残酷追逐，许智宏的贪欲和权力欲望，造就了属于他的商业帝国，但是无止境地扩张和不择手段地获得，也让他最终走向了毁灭，在众叛亲离之后，留给他的将是永久的伤痛和法律的制裁，可以说是恶有恶报。另一条线是男女主人公曲折离奇的情感姻缘，杨辰对于生活的热情；对于爱情的坚守；对于邻里的温情、对于恶势力的果敢，让他最终失而复得。而女一号林若溪则是身负重任，砥砺前行，以弱女子之身，与众势力周旋，最终不负家族之名，与杨辰有情人终成眷属。而这个大团圆的结局，也弘扬了“真善美”，传递了男女主人公的正能量。
