回复 :影片取材自真实历史事件，1969年的纽约“石墙酒吧暴动”。1969年6月28日，纽约警方突击了一家位于曼哈顿东村地区的由黑社会经营的酒吧“石墙”，这里都是一些无家可归的同性恋人士，因为当时主流社会的排斥，纷纷以此为家。这次突袭并没有按照警方预想的那样发展，最终引发一场大规模同性恋抗议暴动，这场暴动所引发的连锁反应和美国六七十年代的黑人民权运动、反战示威等一起改变了美国乃至世界的社会面貌。电影《石墙暴动》由约翰·罗宾·贝茨（John Robin Bates）编剧，故事的主角是一个被父母赶出家门的同性恋男孩，他只身从小乡村来到大纽约 ，被石墙酒吧收留，亲身参加了这场暴动。
