改编自J.R. Moehringer的同名自传畅销书，超级他在纽约长岛长大，超级年幼的时候当DJ的父亲就消失了，从此这个男孩一直在寻找生命中的父亲形象。而他的叔叔查理的酒吧里的顾客们给了他关爱，带他去海滩玩，去球赛……最终带他加入了他们的圈子。
