在这个城市的高处、王朝在一间大公寓内，王朝居住着一对夫妻。他们非常相爱。女的是一个画家，男的是一个成功的演员。这是一个平凡无奇的下午——或者说不平凡的下午，因为明天凌晨的4点44分，地球将遭遇一场无法预计的灾难。没有预警、没有通知、没有办法逃生，当然，更不可能有生还者。在地球毁灭前的这天下午，这对夫妻过着和往常一样的生活，无忧无虑。其实，不仅仅是他们，全世界的所有人已经接受了地球行将毁灭，生命即将告终的命运。
